Exchange with picnic and walk through the Sürther Aue with Zakole Kollektiv (artist & activist collective/ Warsaw), Caroline Brünen (artist/ Cologne) and AG Sürther Aue of BUND Kreisgruppe Köln. With a thematic picnic by Marie Donike.
The event On Becoming a Water Guardian - Walk through the Sürther Aue brings together art and ecological care on the banks of the Rhine. During a walk and picnic, artist Caroline Brünen and the collective Zakole will present their methods and projects at the intersection of art and environmental activism. In addition, representatives of the former "Aktionsgemeinschaft Contra Erweiterung Godorfer Hafen" will report on the 35-year and ultimately successful struggle to preserve the nature reserve "Am Godorfer Hafen", today "Sürther Aue".
The goal is to exchange experiences regarding methods of civic engagement and artistic practices of ecological advocacy.
The event is part of the program accompanying the exhibition VIBRANT WATERS. Photoszene Co-Labs! curated by Nada Rosa Schroer, currently on view in the CCA Temporary Gallery.
